Mou working on United transfers already - reports

Cape Town - Jose Mourinho is said to be singling out possible transfers for Manchester United if he takes over Louis van Gaal next season.

According to Metro, Mourinho is set to take over Van Gaal in hopes of rejuvenating United since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of the 2012/13 season.

After Ferguson handed over the reins to David Moyes, who failed to deliver and was fired 10-months into job United. United then relied on Ryan Giggs to uphold the club whilst searching for a new manager.

Van Gaal was announced as the Red Devils boss in 2014 before the FIFA World Cup. He went into his first season as a Premier League manager heavily critised but got the job done when securing a Champions League spot as the Red Devils ending fourth on the table.

However, this year has been an indifferent season for the club under the Dutchman's guidance due to injuries and tactical decisions which has put his job on the line.

Fans have been calling for Giggs to be given a fair chance at managing the club while many are hoping Mourinho ends up in the United hotseat next.

United find themselves a point behind Manchester City in the Premier League as they look to break into the top four.

Van Gaal's side travel to London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, April 10.

Kick-off is at 17:00.
