Mkhitaryan: I knew my chance would come

Cape Town - Henrikh Mkhitaryan says he never doubted that he would become an important player at Manchester United, despite making a slow start to the season.

The Armenia international signed for the Red Devils - on the back being named the Bundesliga player of the year - from German club Borussia Dortmund before the start of this campaign.

However, the 28-year-old only made one substitute appearance in two and a half months in England and there were even rumours that the play-maker was looking to move on in the January transfer window.

Despite the slow start, Mkhitaryan has now go to become an important member of Jose Mourinho's squad as they prepare to host West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday.

Mkhitaryan said: Our life is worthless without difficulties. Every person must be able to handle difficulties and the same concerns me.

"But it was not difficult for me to overcome these difficulties as I knew that sooner or later I would get my chance and I would use that.

"Yes, there are cases when a person faces much tougher problems, but he or she must be ready to face them. I just waited for my chance. I worked and I worked hard, waiting for my chance, got it and used that."
