Cape Town - Liverpool defender Joel Matip says he's much happier being able to line up in a Jurgen Klopp team rather than having to face one.
The Cameroon international, who joined the Reds on a free transfer from Schalke during the current transfer window, has faced Klopp more times than he cares to remember, when the German was in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
Matip made his first appearance for the Merseysiders in a 4-0 loss to Mainz since suffering an injury against Wigan last month.
"Jurgen Klopp is a great coach. He was the coach of Dortmund when I was at Schalke but now I have the possibility to play for him at Liverpool," the 25-year-old centre-back told the LFC Magazine.
"Schalke versus Dortmund is the biggest derby in German football. They were hard games because his team was so good and we had some very close results. Those results were not always good for us, though!
"It was a very easy decision to play for him at Liverpool. It was a very easy decision to play for him too because he can make every player better."
