Cape Town - Manchester
United's latest signing, Nemanja Matic, is determined to enjoy the same
level of success his Serbian compatriot Nemanja Vidic had at the club.
The 28-year-old completed his move to Old Trafford from Chelsea on Monday for a reported £40million transfer fee and is eager to claim silverware at United, where Vidic won five Premier League titles and the Champions League.
"Vidic was a great player, he was one of the players I looked to be similar to because he had a great career," the 28-year-old told MUTV.
"He was the leader of our national team and it's great to be at the same club, like him. I'll try to do my best to repeat what he did. I know it's going to be hard but I don't want him to tell me one day 'what are you doing there?'."
The move to United sees Matic reunite with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, under whom he won the Premier League title in 2015, before winning it again last season with Antonio Conte.
