Mane injury worry for Klopp

Cape Town - Jurgen Klopp is sweating over the fitness of summer signing Sadio Mane after the Senegal international was rushed to hospital with a shoulder injury on Wednesday.

According to ESPN, Mane suffered the blow during training at Melwood on Wednesday morning and had to be taken to a nearby hospital for scans to ascertain the full extent of the damage.

The news will be a big blow to Klopp's early-season plans after winger Sheyi Ojo was also ruled out with a fractured back bone.

Mane's absence will be keenly felt by the Reds, especially after his tremendous individual performance on his official debut on Sunday, where he scored in the 4-3 win over Arsenal at the Emirates.

Klopp will be hoping that the injury isn't too serious and that he recovers in time for their next fixture against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Mane recently joined the Reds for £34 million after an impressive two seasons in the Premier League with Southampton, scoring 25 goals and registering 14 assists in 75 games at St Mary's Stadium.
