The Colombian's transfer could also have ramifications for club captain Wayne Rooney and his future at United. As it was rumoured that Rodriguez has a clause in a mega-deal contract with Adidas which stipulates that he must wear the number 10 jersey at whichever team he plays for, with Rooney the current holder of that number.
