Cape Town - Manchester United want to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic and have made inquiries into securing the Croatian's signature, according to the Serie A club.
Perisic netted his 11th goal of the campaign on the final day of the Italian season on Sunday, with plenty of speculation that the 28-year-old is a target for United boss Jose Mourinho.
The Croatian international has also been linked with Chelsea and while Inter are yet to receive an offer for Perisic, Inter director Piero Ausilio has confirmed United’s interest.
"[United] haven't made us an official offer for Perisic but their interest is there," Ausilio told Premium Sport.
"We want to improve Inter and this is why we do not have any sellable or un-sellable players as of now.
"We know that we already have many important players within our roster like Perisic and before we decide to sell him, we have to think about what's best for Inter.
"For me we have an as good squad or maybe even a better squad than most of the teams who finished ahead of us. We don't need all that much, we will certainly make some moves but we will first have to see what our new coach will want."
United manager while being interviewed by Sky Sports HQ at the Monaco Grand Prix said that Vice-executive chairperson Ed Woodward had been given a list of players he wanted to sign two months ago.
