Cape Town - Pachuca vice-president Andres Fassi has revealed that talks are underway for the transfer of young winger Hirving Lozano to Manchester United.
The 20-year-old is currently preparing to represent Mexico at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and the Red Devils are hoping to complete a deal in the not-too-distant future.
"Already there are negotiations with United - there is still nothing closed though," Fassi told reporters on Sunday.
Lozano recently represented his country at Copa America Centenario, where Mexico were defeated by eventual winners Chile in the quarter-finals of the competition.
He has seven senior caps to his name and has made over 90 appearances for Pachuca since making his first-team debut in 2014.
Lozano's father-in-law, meanwhile, believes the winger's transfer will be confirmed after the Olympics in Brazil.
"It's all done," he said. "Just missing some details and then after the Olympics it becomes official."
If Lozano's transfer goes ahead as planned, he will become Manchester United's fourth acquisition following the appointment of Jose Mourinho. The Manchester outfit have already concluded deals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
