Cape Town - Everton and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku believes Paul Pogba's decision to rejoin Manchester United in the off season had nothing to do with money.
Pogba, who's close friends with Lukaku, has been critcised for going back to the Red Devils for a reported £290,000 a week wage.
However, Lukaku says he was with Pogba when talks started with Jose Mourinho's side prior to the world record £89.3 million transfer.
"When everything was signed - and I've known Paul for many years - I've never seen him with that look on his face," the 23-year-old told ESPN.
"I'd never seen him so happy. This return to United, it had nothing to do with money. It was a relief, a real happiness for him.
"We only spoke once about football during our holidays this summer, when we were at a pool in LA, and he was telling me about his dream to return to United. That's when I understood what it meant."
