Luiz targeting Premier League title

Cape Town - David Luiz has set his sights on Premier League glory after completing a shock move back to Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

Luiz left the Blues to join Paris Saint-Germain in June 2014 on a five-year, £50 million deal.

After two seasons with the French giants, the defender opted to return to Stamford Bridge on a three-year contract that is understood to be worth £34 million.

Now that he is back in London, the Brazilian is eager to see the club achieve great things after they endured a forgettable 2015/16, in which they finished 10th.

"It is time to do it," he told Chelsea’s website. "And I hope it will be this year. I am working hard for that and this is our goal this season. We don't have the Champions League to fight for so for sure we will try to win the Premier League and both cups."

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed that he intends to use Luiz as a centre-back, but the Brazilian said he is willing to play wherever needed in order to see the Blues crowned Premier League champions, a feat they last achieved in 2014/15.

"I started playing three at the back with Vitoria in Brazil, but it doesn't matter where, I want to help and when I am in the team I am there to try to help," the 29-year-old said.

"The coach is an amazing coach, he understands a lot of tactical things and I know he chooses every match the best line up, so if he needs to play three, four or two, it doesn't matter, I am there if he wants me to play. In different positions I am available."
