Liverpool to pick up steam!

Cape Town - Is there more light appearing at the end of the English Premiership tunnel for Liverpool? It would seem so.

The Reds earned a very welcome 3-1 triumph over Arsenal last weekend to suggest they are back on the mend, and now the Burnley hurdle at Anfield on Sunday shouldn't prove too demanding for them - at least that’s how the Sport24 gurus feel.

All seven believe 'Pool will prevail, avenging that 2-0 reverse in the first-round clash at Turf Moor, and beefing their quest for a finish within the Champions League zone.

Each round of the 2016/17 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial; he swears the Championship is more competitive), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Maano Nekhavhambe and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
