Cape Town Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm believes that Bastian Schweinsteiger should be employed by the German champions after his playing days are over.
Before joining Manchester United last season, Schweinsteiger had spent his entire career at the Allianz Arena.
However, the Germany international has struggled to make much of an impact at Old Trafford. He is currently training with the club's Under-21s and is expected to be off-loaded by new United boss Jose Mourinho.
Former Bayern team-mate Lahm says he believes Schweinsteiger will provide the perfect fit for a post-playing career back at the club where he made his name.
"It is important to get players who achieved a lot involved," Lahm told Sport Bild. "Someone like Schweinsteiger is destined to work at Bayern again. He knows everyone here and knows about everything that is going on."
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge echoed Lahm's sentiments, adding: "We are happy to sit down with him if he ever expresses a desire to return to Bayern in a different role.
"Should he speak in the future at some point about a desire to return then we will discuss it with him."
