Cape Town - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists his players have a lot to improve on before the new season, despite thrashing Bayern Munich 3-0 in a pre-season friendly.
The Reds ran out comfortable winners at the Allianz Arena in the Audi Cup after goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Daniel Sturridge.
However, Klopp was far from delighted with his side's performance and made it clear that his players have to do better in the Premier League.
“You know that I am not like this,” said the former Dortmund manager, according to the Telegraph.
“We won 3-0 but I don’t like running around saying, ‘how good was this?’ because it was not. In a few parts of course it was good, in a few other parts everyone saw that Bayern had the ball too often and it was too easy to play through our lines. I cannot ignore this on a day like today.
“I have to speak to things that are not good because I see it. It is not that I am trying to make the league afraid, ‘oh my God Liverpool beat Bayern 3-0 and they can do better.’ We have to do better and that is what we are working on.”
