Klopp out to solve left-back dilemma

Cape Town - Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp is set to raid another Bundesliga club in a bid to resolve his long-term solution for a reliable left-back.

According to German publication Sport Bild, the Reds are eyeing highly-rated Schalke full-back Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer, just a season after poaching Joel Matip in a similar fashion.

Matip has proven to be one of the bargain buys of the season with dominating displays under Klopp, and a move for the versatile Kolasinac would be welcomed by the Anfield faithful.

With 17 senior national team caps, the Bosnian is already an experienced campaigner in the German top-flight with 117 appearances for Die Knappen.

This season his return of three goals and seven assists in 30 games has attracted the attention of Manchester City and Arsenal, while reports in Italian media claim AS Roma and AC Milan have already offered the German-born defender a contract for next season.

The 23-year-old is capable of playing at centre-back and in a holding midfield role and with six-months left of his current contract, he is free to engage in contract negotiations with the English side.

Experienced midfielder James Milner has filled in at the left-back position this season as Alberto Moreno's lack of defensive solidity has seen the Spaniard fall out of favour at the Merseyside outfit.
