Klopp doesn't want to lose Can

Cape Town - Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expecting to see defensive midfielder Emre Can sign a new contract despite reported interest from Juventus.

The Germany international has just 12 months left on his current deal with the Reds.

However, Klopp is hoping that Can will soon sign his name to fresh terms that will ward off interest from the Italian champions.

"Emre is a very important player for us," said Klopp.

"We don't want to sell or lose players who are in our first lineup or close to it. Emre is certainly one of them.

"We want to keep him and we're having good talks. You can imagine we're involved in talks and we all feel good and confident in this moment.

"That means they're not the worst talks but until anything is done or signed there's nothing to say."
