Karius: United are 'good' but Liverpool are 'great'

Cape Town - Loris Karius can't wait to taste the atmosphere at Anfield when Liverpool come toe-to-toe with arch-rivals Manchester United on Monday.

Monday will be the first time the Red Devils have played Liverpool since Jose Mourinho took over from Louis van Gaal at the end of last season

The keeper - who the Reds bought from Mainz for £4.7m in the summer - thinks Jurgen Klopp's side will have to form a "good plan" if they are to beat United.

“It will be a big game; I think it will be a close game,” goalkeeper told Premier League Productions.

“Man Utd has a good, strong team but we have a great team and we play at home. We have respect for them but we’re not scared of them and we know we want to win the game.

“We’ll have a good plan - or more than one plan - so we will be well prepared. Monday night at Anfield, the fans will be behind us, so I think everyone’s looking forward to it.”

When asked if it will be the biggest game of his career, Karius responded: “Probably. With all the history of both clubs, the rivalry, it’s a very big match.

“It’s always hard to say which is the biggest but it’s a really big match.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
