Cape Town - Having finished as runners-up last season, Harry Kane believes his Tottenham side are ready to start picking up silverware.
Last season saw Spurs finish above Arsenal in the Premier League standings for the first time in 22 seasons, and the next step is to challenge for the title.
"Third, second. The only way we can improve is to win something or win the league," Kane said. "That is our aim. That is always our aim.
Spurs have finally made their first signing of the transfer window with the arrival of Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax, and Kane is hoping that cohesion will be their strength.
"We have to keep doing what we are doing and hopefully it will happen," he said. "It is another year that we have been playing with each other. Another year of getting used to the way that we play with the manager."
After kicking off their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win over Newcastle United, Spurs were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in their first home game of the season at Wembley, and host Burnley this coming Sunday.
