Kane: Spurs is stronger than last season

Cape Town - Tottenham striker Harry Kane believes the team is stronger than they were last season when they finished third in the Premier League standings.

Spurs managed to hang on to all of their key personnel during the now closed transfer window while added depth in crucial positions with the acquisitions of Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar to provide cover for Kane, as well as Victor Wanyama and Moussa Sissoko to add steel to their midfield.

In addition, they have managed to tie down manager Mauricio Pochettino and playmaker Christian Eriksen to new long-term deals, showing the existing squad has faith in the direction the club is heading.

Kane is yet to get off the mark in the new campaign after finishing the last term as the top goalscorer in the Premier League and, despite the fact that the north Londoners remain unbeaten, he admits they will need to improve if they are to achieve their objectives.

"I think we've got a stronger squad than last year," the England international said. "We've added some great additions to the team. We've bought some great players in who have fitted in perfectly.

"So now we're ready, we've got a lot of games, being in the Champions League against tough opponents. We definitely feel we're ready to go and we're stronger than last year.

"The performances haven't been amazing. There's still room to improve. But we've got some good results against some tough teams. We hope to kick on now like we did last year, get some wins and go from there."
