Kane: Spurs can't wait to get started

Cape Town - Tottenham ace Harry Kane says that his side can barely contain their excitement over the upcoming Premier League season, especially after their showing against Juventus on Saturday.

The 24-year old, who was on hand to finish a terrific team-effort to open the scoring against the Serie A champions on Saturday, is brimming with confidence ahead of the London club's looming Premier League campaign which kicks off against Newcastle. next Saturday.

Spurs put together a solid display against their illustrious visitors, scoring two unanswered goals via Kane and Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen.

“A lot of the Juventus players played in the Champions League final last season and we dominated from the start, pressed high, got that early goal and controlled the game from there,” Kane told Tottenhamhotspur.com.

"It was a great performance and one that will give us a lot of confidence going forward into the new season.

“When you start pre-season you can’t wait for the season to start," he added. “We’ve had a tough month and now we’re looking forward to it all getting started. We played well against Juventus and the feeling is good going into that first game.”

“Pre-season is all about fitness," the England international continued. "That was the last game before the start of the season so it was good to get 80 minutes under my belt personally, now we have another full week of training. We’ll work hard ahead of Newcastle.”
