Kane praises Spurs' goal-scoring form

Cape Town - Tottenham striker Harry Kane has praised the way his teammates have supported him by contributing with goals throughout the season.

Kane has been leading the charge with 19 goals in 23 Premier League appearances, but Dele Alli has scored 16 goals, while Heung-Min Son has chipped in with 11.

Spurs are still in with a shot at the Premier League title, as they trail Chelsea by seven points with seven games left, and Kane believes it's down to the way they have shared the goal-scoring load.

"I said earlier in the season that if you want to be title contenders, you need two or three players getting double figures," Kane said. "If more than one player can reach 20 goals this season, it will really help the team."

"When you look at the eight league games I've missed this season due to injury, we've won five and drawn three. So we're still scoring goals and still winning games, which shows the strength in our squad.

"It is important we keep that up now until the end of the season and put as much pressure on Chelsea as we can."

Meanwhile Mauricio Pochettino insists his Tottenham Hotspur side are building a winning mentality and will be ready to pounce if Chelsea stumble in the race for the Premier League title race.

Spurs' emphatic 4-0 victory over Watford at White Hart Lane kept the pressure on league leaders Chelsea.
