Cape Town - Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed that midfielder Joe Allen could be back in action for the team against Swansea City on Saturday.
The Wales international has been on the sidelines for 11 days after injuring his hamstring during the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool.
However, Allen seems to be on track to face his former team, should he get through the Potters' training session on Thursday.
"Joe we are going to get out on the grass on Thursday and hopefully he will be ok," said Hughes, according to The Sentinel.
"He hasn't gone up to full speed yet with his hamstring but he's hopeful of taking part with the squad tomorrow. If he can do that and not get a reaction that he hopefully he might be an option."
Hughes added: "Jon has gone to get his knee checked by virtue of the fact he's been getting a bit of fluid on it and he's gone to see his guy that's always worked with his knee just to check there's nothing untoward.
"I don't think there is, it's just a case of maybe tempering his work load during the week to make sure he doesn't get a reaction."
