Hazard backs Costa for Golden Boot

Cape Town - Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard insists he would be happy for teammate Diego Costa to top the Premier League scoring charts this season.

Costa and Hazard contributed with goals at the weekend as Chelsea beat Manchester City 3-1, moving the Blues three points clear at the top of the standings.

Costa has now moved to the top of the goal-scoring charts with 11, alongside Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, while Hazard has eight.

The Belgian revealed that he wouldn't mind Costa winning the golden boot, as long as he can reclaim the Player of the Year crown.

"It's not bad, is it?" Hazard said when asked about Costa's goal tally, according to ESPN FC.

"But I always say to Diego that he can become the top scorer. If I get the chance to score a goal, I will take it. But he can become the top scorer if I can win the trophy of the best player.

"We can laugh about it now, but we'll see. Diego is performing on a high level and we are scoring a lot of goals.

"We are strong as a team, we are together, and that's very good. We are going to try to keep playing on this level. We are full of confidence."
