Gerrard returns to Anfield for Ejaria loan

Cape Town - Liverpool youngster Ovie Ejaria will spend next season on loan at Rangers, where Anfield legend Steven Gerrard recently took over as manager.

The 20-year-old has secured his long-term future on Merseyside by penning a new contract and will be looking to continue his development under Gerrard, who is aiming to dethrone Celtic in the Scottish Premier League.

Ejaria told the club's official website: "It's a really great feeling. I've been at Liverpool for four years now and I'm just really happy to extend my stay here.

"It's a massive club, the club's doing really well at the moment, so it wasn't a hard decision at all.

"I'm just going to keep working hard and see where that takes me. I really want to be a regular at Liverpool Football Club, a massive club, so that's my aim."

Ejaria joined the Liverpool academy from Arsenal in 2014 and has made eight first-team appearances, all of which came in the 2016/17 campaign.
