Everton close in on £10m teenager

Cape Town - Everton are close to signing teenage forward Ademola Lookman for an astounding £10 million from League One side Charlton.

The 19-year-old has been earning rave reviews for his performances in the third tier for the Addicks and was subject to potential moves to various top-flight clubs since making his first-team debut in November 2015.

With seven goals and two assists so far this season, Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is expected to act quickly in securing the mercurial talent at the recommendation of chief scout Steve Walsh, as reported via BBC Football.

If the deal goes through, it will continue the trend of the Merseysiders picking up young immerging local talent, following on from the likes of defenders John Stones and Mason Holgate from Barnsley, and more recently forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United.

Koeman is also interested in Manchester United misfits Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay, which could see the duo move to Goodison Park a sensational £40m swoop.
