Eddie Jones delivers Palace pep talk

London - England rugby head coach Eddie Jones delivered a motivational talk at Crystal Palace on Thursday ahead of their season run-in, which concludes with the FA Cup final against Manchester United.

Palace are not yet safe from relegation in the Premier League and manager Alan Pardew enlisted the services of Australian Jones, who led England to a Six Nations Grand Slam last month, in a bid to focus their minds.

"We're still not mathematically safe in the Premier League so we still have work to do, which is why I asked Eddie Jones to come in and he had a few words with the team about complacency and about what teams do," said Pardew.

"He's been involved in World Cups with other nations, a multicultural personality, someone who is engaging. If they can't take on board his comments then we're in trouble."

Palace, who beat Watford 2-1 in the FA Cup semi-final last Sunday, visit second-bottom Newcastle United in the league on Saturday. They are eight points above the relegation zone with three games to play.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
