Cape Town - Manchester City will have to fork out £65m if they want to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, according to a report.
Gabon international Aubameyang has attracted interest from several of Europe's top clubs including City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Bundesliga giants Dortmund are not keen on selling one of their top stars.
Sky Sports recently reported that Manchester City were in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund about signing the Bundesliga Player of the Year, but the Mirror believes the clubs are not close to making a deal.
"City lodged an interest with Dortmund at the end of the season - on the instructions of incoming boss Pep Guardiola, who has seen plenty of the 26-year-old while in charge of Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich," The Mirror report said.
"But Dortmund's valuation would shatter the record of £57.9m - paid by Manchester United to Real Madrid for Argentina winger Angel Di Maria two years ago."
It added: "There has not been a fresh approach from the Etihad since.
"But the Blues will go back if they receive any encouragement that Dortmund could revise their asking price."
