Cape Town - Borussia Dortmund have denied reports that midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has agreed a deal to join Manchester City in the off-season.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a Westfalenstadion exit, with his contract at the club set to expire at the end of next season.
Spanish publication Sport reported this week that the 25-year-old has been in contact with Barcelona, but informed the Catalan club that he intended to join City once Pep Guardiola takes over ahead of next season.
The story also mentioned that Dortmund and City have agreed a transfer, but the Bundesliga club denied the story, responding to Sport on their official Twitter account.
"Really? We should know about that, shouldn't we? Truth is, we don't know anything about that," the response read.
Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed that talks over a new contract for Gundogan were ongoing, but conceded that negotiations were not easy.
