Divock Origi ready to lead the line

Cape Town - Divock Origi says he is not under any pressure now that it seems he is preferred to Christian Benteke by manager Jurgen Klopp.

"I don't feel any pressure at all" the Belgian striker said to supersport.com in the Mixed Zone at the end of the friendly with Mainz 05 deep in the bowels of OPEL Arena.

"I am just enjoying my football and I aim to thrive in the role" he concluded as he walked away with a smile and a swagger.

It was a spirited performance by the largely second string side sent out by manager Jurgen Klopp less than 24 hours after they had beaten Barcelona by the same 4 nil scoreline at Wembley.

Defender Joel Matip played the full match as he searches for match fitness following injury.

Skipper Jordan Henderson, Alberto Moreno and Origi were the three who played long periods at Wembley who started as the Premier league side completed their pre-season engagements with this match. It is Arsenal in the new season next weekend.

Jurgen Klopp was the star attraction as he was feted by the hosts who remember with fondness his time at the club.

"We played Barcelona only yesterday so today was also about giving playing time to a lot of the squad players" he said in the press conference at the end of the game.

A penalty by Jose Rodriguez was followed by further goals from Jhon Cordoba, Yunus Malli and Yoshinori Muto for the emphatic score line for the rampant hosts.
