Dier staying at Tottenham, confirms Pochettino

London - Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has played down speculation that midfielder Eric Dier will be leaving the club.

According to reports, Dier is becoming increasingly frustrated at Tottenham, which has led to rumours that Premier League leaders Chelsea and reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are interested in acquiring his services.

Despite this, Pochettino is confident that the 22-year-old will stay put, especially as he signed a new deal to keep him with the club until 2021 in September.

"Absolutely no," Pochettino said when asked if Dier would leave in January. "Eric Dier is our player. He is still under contract, we improved his salary after the Euros. There is no doubt that his future is at Tottenham."

Dier has represented Tottenham in 20 games in all competitions this season, but has failed to have an impact on the pitch as he has yet to record his first goal or assist.

Pochetinno's men next welcome Sean Dyche's Burnley to White Hart Lane where they will be looking to put pressure on the top-four sides in the league standings.

Kick off is at 18:00.
