Courtois unsure of Chelsea future

Cape Town - Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has admitted that he is mulling over the idea of whether he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge next season.

The reigning champions have endured a turbulent season, during which they were on the brink of the relegation zone early on before climbing back up the , where they currently sit in 10th place.

However, the toll of the season, accompanied with his knee surgery and Jose Mourinho’s sacking, may have been too much for Courtois to bear.

"I don't know," the 23-year-old told Belgian broadcaster RTBF. "I still have a contract for three years so we'll see what Chelsea want too.

"Until now I'd won a trophy every season. I tried to come back as strongly as possible [from the injury].

"It's a pity that we're out of the FA Cup and the Champions League but I'm going to try to finish the season well and have a good European Championship with Belgium.

"Then we'll start a new season with a new manager [at Chelsea] with the hope of doing a lot better than this year."

However, should Courtois want to leave Chelsea, it is unlikely that any club will pay the £73 million price tag the Blues have placed upon him.
