Conte backs Zlatan to shine at Man Utd

Cape Town - Italy boss Antonio Conte has backed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to shine at Manchester United should the striker complete his expected move in the off-season.

Conte, who will take over as Chelsea boss ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign, is preparing to face Ibrahimovic and Sweden at Euro 2016, and he has few doubts the veteran is still capable of making an impact.

"I think Zlatan is a great player, a top player, and he could play in any league in the world," he told reporters.

"I see no reason why he couldn't make an impact anywhere. He's a terrific player. Sweden are a decent side with a true superstar so we have to be very careful."

Italy are strongly positioned in Group D following a 2-0 win over Belgium in their opening game, while Sweden still have work to do following a 1-1 draw against Ireland.

However, Conte has warned that they cannot afford to take their eyes off Ibrahimovic for a second.

"He's a great champion, a fantastic player and he can hurt us all on his own," he added.

"But we have to play our own game, albeit with certain adaptations to counter their strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
