City to avenge Gunners’ mastery?

Cape Town - Arsenal won the first-round fixture 2-1 in London... Manchester City desperately need to reverse that state of affairs on Sunday if they are to push the Gunners out of third in the Premiership.

But you don’t get much helpful guidance from the Sport24 “experts”, who offer all outcomes on this key dogfight for European slots next season.

The Gunners also won the corresponding fixture in the north-west 2-0 (Cazorla, Giroud) last year, so there’s plenty of statistical ammo, at least, to motivate City toward a vital, balance-restoring win.

Each round of the 2015/16 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Herman Mostert (Chelsea), and a trio of Manchester United devotees in Tashreeq Vardien, Lloyd Burnard and Maano Nekhavhambe.

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.

Yes! Siya will only be 36 at the next World Cup. He can make it!

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
