Cape Town - Newly-signed Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy has been loaned out to Huddersfield Town in a bid to garner regular game-time, according his agent.
Just days after the 25-year-old Australian international sealed a dream move to Pep Guardiola's City, his agent Paddy Dominguez confirmed that the former Melbourne City man will ply his trade in the English Championship next season.
In a statement made by Dominguez, he cites the chance to work under coach David Wagner - who previously worked with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund - as the main reason behind Mooy's decision to go on loan to Huddersfield.
"Every decision Aaron has made has been strategically planned with a view to him having a good opportunity to get a lot of games and work with the right coach," he said.
"David Wagner has done brilliant work with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and is exactly the kind of coach that will help Aaron progress his game to the next level, which will be of great benefit to Australia and Huddersfield."
Mooy, who enjoyed a spell with Bolton Wanderers from 2009-2010 revealed his delight upon making the move to The Terriers.
"I'm delighted to join Huddersfield Town Football Club, ahead of what I'm sure will be a really exciting season and I can't wait to get started," he added.
"The Championship is a really tough competition and provides me with a good challenge for the next stage of my career."
"I'm looking forward to meeting my new teammates and to working with the boss David Wagner. Huddersfield are a progressive club and are an ideal fit for me to achieve my goals for the coming year."
