City join Arsenal, Chelsea, United in Kante race

Cape Town - Manchester Ciy have reportedly held negotiations with Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kante, despite the player being linked with a move to Arsenal.

The Frenchman has been a revelation for the newly-crowned Premier League champions this season since arriving at the King Power Stadium in a deal worth £5.6m from Caen last summer.

His impressive exploits in Leicester's title-winning season earned him a spot in the PFA Team Of The Year alongside club teammates Wes Morgan, Riyad Mahrez, and Jamie Vardy.

The 25-year-old has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in recent times, but reports from French newspaper L'Equipe claim that Manchester City bypassed thier rivals in the race for the Frenchman's signature after reportedly holding two rounds of talks with the player's representatives.

Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola, who will take over from Manuel Pellegrini as manager, is said to be a big fan of the Foxes star, which could be the deciding factor as the player weighs up his options ahead of the 2016/17 Premiership season.
