Chelsea: Christensen not for sale

Cape Town - Chelsea reportedly have no intention of selling on-loan defender Andreas Christensen to Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 20-year-old centre-back enjoyed a stellar time with the Bundesliga club during his two-year loan period, with the fans voting him Player of the Season ahead of Arsenal-bound Granit Xhaka.

Gladbach director of football Max Eberl told the Daily Mail that his club are willing to "make a record transfer" to secure the services of Christensen.

Die Fohlen are willing to eclipse their £11.5m transfer record and splash a reported total of £18m for the Denmark international, but the Blues are believed to be keen on retaining Christensen.

The Brondby youth product featured 39 times in all competitions for Gladbach last season, scoring three goals in the process.
