Champions League still in Liverpool's hands, says Can

Cape Town - Emre Can says Champions League qualification is still in Liverpool's hands despite dropping points in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

The Reds ended the weekend in third place on 66 points with four games to play, just two points clear of Manchester City and three better off than Manchester United in fifth, but having played two games more.

Philippe Coutinho had given Jurgen Klopp's side a first half lead at Anfield, but two Christian Benteke goals sealed an important win for Palace.

Reacting to the loss, Can said: "Everyone is very disappointed because we should have won this game. We had the chances. It was stupid from us.

"All the set pieces in training we had done very well but again we concede a goal after a set piece. It was stupid."

While he bemoaned the result, the German midfielder was quick to put the game behind him, ahead of fixtures against Watford, Southampton, West Ham and Middlesbrough.

He continued: "We can be disappointed after the game but from Monday we have to look forward.

"We have got to go again and it is still in our hands. If we win the last four games, we will reach the Champions League. That has to be the target. It has to be.

"Some of the other top teams will play against each other and we will give it our best."

The action gets underway at 21:00.
