Cape Town - Santi Cazorla is keen to pen a new contract at Arsenal, despite speculation over interest from Atletico Madrid.
Cazorla has made more than 100 appearances for the Gunners since arriving from Malaga in the summer of 2012, but his current deal at the Emirates is due to expire at the end of the season.
That has prompted talk in the Spanish press that Champions League finalists Atletico could make a move for the 31-year-old, who has scored twice this season after recovering from the injury troubles which sidelined him for much of the previous campaign.
However, while Cazorla is full of admiration for Atletico, the Spanish international insists he will remain at Arsenal if he is offered fresh terms.
“Atletico Madrid are an amazing club," said Cazorla.
"Just have a look at their results, El Cholo [Diego Simeone] is doing great things. It is not easy to reach two Champions League finals and win the league.
"[But] I am happy here. I am trusted by the manager and my team-mates.
"I am feeling important here, and if they'll offer me a new contract, I'll sign it because I am very happy with this great club."
