Cape Town - Arsenal star Santi Cazorla believes it's vital for the club that they secure the services of fullback Hector Bellerin for the foreseeable future.
The 21-year-old joined the Gunners from Barcelona in 2011 at the age of 16 and has now garnered interest from his former club as well as Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The full-back still has three years left on his current contract at Arsenal, but considering the increased interest in him, Cazorla wants to see him rewarded with a new deal soon.
"We'll see [what happens with Hector]," Cazorla told IBTimes UK. "It is clear that Hector is the right-back of the future. You could see in the victory over Swansea how good he is. He was all over the place and never stopped running.
"For Arsenal it would be a mistake to let him go. It is obvious that many teams want him. There has been talk about Manchester City and Barcelona. He is a player with great potential and I am sure he will also be a key part of the future of the Spanish national team."
