Cape Town - Cardiff City have announced the loan signing of Oumar Niasse from Everton on Friday, subject to international clearance and Premier League approval.
The 28-year-old is the Blue Birds' first signing of the 2019 January transfer window and has agreed a deal for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.
Niasse, a Senegalese international forward, joined Everton from Lokomotiv Moscow in February 2016. He has scored 12 Premier League goals to date for the Toffees and Hull City (loan).
"I'm really pleased to be at Cardiff City, Niasse told Cardiff City TV. "Having heard about the manager from other players and met him earlier today, I knew this was the right move for me. Other clubs were interested, but I was convinced that this was where I wanted to come."
Cardiff next travel to St James' Park to face fellow relegation-threatened Newcastle United on Saturday, with the winner staying clear of the drop zone.
Kick-off is at 17:00.
