Cape Town - Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero has compared the playing styles of Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola, saying that under the former Bayern Munich mentor the Citizens play more risky football.
Speaking to the club's official website ahead of his side's pre-season fixture against Borussia Dortmund in the 2016 International Champions Cup, the Argentine goalkeeper highlighted the differences in approach between Pellegrini and Guardiola.
"Every boss has their own way to play - with Manuel, we had a way technically to play and now we have to learn to play differently," he said.
"Maybe we play with a bit more risk now in the build-up but if we do it well, we will play in a beautiful way."
Following a string of fine saves in City's 1-0 loss to Bayern, the 34-year-old is expected to get the nod for the game against Dortmund.
Cabarello highlighted the importance of the game against the Bundesliga outfit in preparation for the 2016/17 campaign, especially after the fixture against Manchester United was cancelled. The Old Trafford club's website revealed the cancellation was 'made in the interest of player safety and comes following extreme weather events in Beijing over a multiple day period, that have left the playing surface in a condition deemed to be unfit for play.'
"It’s a really good test for us, especially because we didn’t play against United so we’re going to have one game less for the pre-season. We have to focus on this game, to have an important performance to produce a game that the boss wants," Cabellero added.
"We will have to work hard to create chances against Borussia Dortmund because they showed what a great team they are against United in Shanghai.
"We will work to show that we are taking on the new boss’s ideas and hopefully we will score some goals and win the game," he concluded.
