Burnley striker hits out at fans after racist incident

Cape Town - Burnley's Andre Gray took to Twitter to criticise his club's own fans after they allegedly made racist comments during a friendly against Bradford.

The Clarets won the match 4-1 at Valley Parade, but it was overshadowed by an incident that resulted in a Burnley fan being asked to leave the stadium after making comments at one of the Bradford players.

The BBC reports that "another supporter left voluntarily, although no arrests were made".

Burnley issued a statement to apologise for the incident adding that they "strongly condemn discrimination of any type".

Striker Gray hit out at people who "still live in the stone ages" on Social Media after the game.

"Well done to the two racist Burnley fans," he posted on Twitter. "Still live in the stone ages I see! Ignorant prats."
