Brady set to undergo knee surgery

Cape Town - Burnley winger Robbie Brady is facing a lengthy lay-off as he prepares to undergo surgery on a knee injury he sustained against Leicester on Saturday.

The Republic of Ireland international left the field on a stretcher in the 31st minute after he collided with Foxes defender Harry Maguire.

Brady had started all 15 games in the Premier League for Sean Dyche's side this season, registering one goal and two assists.

But the 25-year-old is set for a significant spell on the sidelines after scans revealed the extent of the damage done to his knee.

"Robbie (Brady) will have surgery to repair a patellar tendon tear and will be out for a substantial recovery period," Dyche told the club's official website.

"He will be given all the time and care he needs on his recovery and supported throughout from all of us at Burnley Football Club."
