Beckham labels Kante a special talent

Cape Town - Former Manchester United star David Beckham has praised Chelsea's N'Golo Kante after the midfielder was named the PFA Player of the Year on Sunday.

Beckham himself was honoured on the night when he was awarded the PFA's merit award for services to club and country.

Beckham said, "What I like about him, actually what I love about him, he plays the game in such a humble way.

"He works hard, he can pass the ball, he can tackle, he can score goals," said the 41-year-old former England captain.

Kante, who was crucial to Leicester City's fairytale title win last season, is on the verge of achieving the feat of winning a second consecutive Premier League title, this time with Chelsea.

"To have won the Premier League the way he did last season with Leicester was special, and the position Chelsea are in at the moment, if they go on to win the title, it'll be a special couple of years for him.

"We'll see what happens towards the end of the season, but he's a special talent, and to be the man mountain that he is, and the size he is, says a lot about him," said Beckham.
