Allsop extends Cherries stay

Cape Town - Bournemouth goalkeeper Ryan Allsop has agreed a two-year contract extension with the English Premier League side.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper made his debut for Eddie Howe's side this season, but was later shipped off in the second half of the season to League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.

Allsop admits it's a relief to have sorted out his future, and will now look to battle it out with his two competitors for a starting berth.

"It's a weight off my shoulders to get it over the line. I love living in Bournemouth and love the club, so I am delighted to be staying for another two years," the former Leyton Orient keeper told the club's official website.

"To make my Premier League debut was massive, but that has just given me a taste of it. I want to play as many games as I can at the top level.

"I have learned loads from Artur Boruc and Adam Federici this season, but I don't want to just make up the numbers. I want to push as hard as I can."
