Cape Town - Chelsea midfielder Willian has revealed that his agent was in talks with Manchester United regarding a potential transfer, but that nothing came of it.
The Brazilian made 34 Premier League appearances for the Blues last season, as they claimed the title, but 19 of them were as a substitute.
The 29-year-old has admitted that his agent was evaluating other options for him which led to talks with Manchester United, due to Willian's friendship with former Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
"There were a few conversations with my agent. I worked with [Jose] Mourinho and I became his friend as well," he told Goal.
"Manchester came to me, they talked with my agent, but nothing happened, because Chelsea would not negotiate me in any way and I'm very happy at Chelsea."
Antonio Conte's men will begin their English Premiership title defence when they host Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Kick off is at 16:00.
