Cape Town - Reports in England suggest that Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha was the reason behind the exit of Tony Pulis.
The Daily Star report that Tony Pulis left the club after falling out with the club chairman over a move for Zaha.
Eagles chairman Steve Parish is known to be a huge fan of Zaha but Pulis reportedly had reservations about the player's character.
Pulis looks set to be replaced by Malky Mackay at Selhurst Park in a three year deal.
Early reports suggest that Mackay will be given "significant funds" to improve the Palace squad and first priority is a move for the 21-year-old Manchester United winger.
Zaha's future at United looks bleak with Newcastle joining the Eagles as a potential destination for the player.
