Wozniacki gutted at Gerrard departure

Melbourne - Danish eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki is a die-hard fan of English Premiership side Liverpool and is gutted that club legend Steven Gerrard is leaving for a United States-based team.

"I'm obviously sad. I think Stevie has done so much for the team over the years. He's a legend," she said.

"I think if that's what he thinks is right, I have to support that.

"I'll have to make a trip probably to LA (where Gerrard will be playing his football with the LA Galaxy), to have a look again. But, 17 seasons, 17 years, it's a long time."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
