Birmingham - Romelu Lukaku's two goals gave West Bromwich Albion a 2-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday for their first home win in the English Premier League in two months.
The on-loan Chelsea striker gave his team the lead from the penalty spot in the 35th minute and then doubled the lead in the 75th after charging down a clearance from Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Sunderland replied through Stephane Sessegnon five minutes later, but West Brom held on to keep up their challenge for a European place.
The 19-year-old Lukaku showed he has the potential to develop into a top-class forward, and was given a standing ovation when substituted four minutes from time for Peter Odemwingie.
