Wenger snubbed Balotelli - twice

Cape Town - Despite halving his initial wage demands, Arsene Wenger turned down the chance to sign Liverpool target Mario Balotelli.

According to Metro, Arsene Wenger twice refused the opportunity to sign Italian striker Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli is likely to complete his £16 million move to Liverpool early this week after he was seen at the Reds' Melwood training ground on the weekend.

Earlier in the summer reports suggest Arsenal would be the club to bring "Super Mario" back to the English Premiership after Wenger and the player's agent reportedly held talks.

At that point, Balotelli's wage demands ended any chance of a deal.

Wenger then again rejected the chance to sign the striker even after the player almost halved his wage demands.

Balotelli scored 30 goals in 54 games for AC Milan since leaving Manchester City.
