Walker extends Tottenham stay

London - England fullback Kyle Walker has signed a new contract at Tottenham, tying him to the Premier League club until the end of the 2016-17 season.

The 21-year-old right back spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa, but has played in 47 of Tottenham's 51 games this season and has been voted England's Young Player of the Year by the players' union.

He scored his first club goal against Arsenal in Spurs' 2-1 Premier League win over north London rivals Arsenal, and made his England debut in a 1-0 friendly win over world and European champions Spain.

He then made his first start for England in the following week's 1-0 friendly win over Sweden, playing the full 90 minutes at Wembley.
